Orestes Workshop Auditions - Monday 3rd August

Many thanks to all those who have expressed interest in 'Orestes: Re-Examined'. Email invites to this workshop have now been sent, (this is not an open audition), and the auditions will be held on Monday 3rd August (session 1: 2-3.30pm, session 2: 4-5.30pm). This will be a practical workshop, involving physical ensemble and vocal work, and an opportunity to experience the style and approach for the production. Please prepare a short piece of classical text (no longer than one minute, ideally from a tragedy), which might be used during a workshop exercise.

The workshops will take place at: The Intimate Theatre, Green Lanes, N13 4HD. By train: Take: First Capital Connect train to Palmers Green, from Moorgate or Finsbury Park, and then a ten minute walk down Green Lanes to the theatre. The theatre is next to St Monica's Church. By tube: Southgate tube on Picadilly line, then catch the W6 or W9 which stops outside.or Wood Green tube on Picadilly line, then take 329 bus towards Enfield town, get off at St.Monica's Church, which is next to theatre. Kick Off!

Here we go - a new life for this exciting project - 'Orestes: Re-Examined'. After its acclaimed run at Bath Spa University Theatre in december 2008, and a subsequent tour of prisons in the South West, Full Tilt Theatre Company has been successful in landing a three week run at the cutting edge Southwark Playhouse in London: www.southwarkplayhouse.co.uk

This revival production is kindly made possible by the support of Bath Spa Live, Artswork, Full Tilt Theatre Company and Bath Spa University, Department of Drama.

The cast will be drawn from students and graduates of the Performing Arts Programme at Bath Spa University, coupled with London based professional actors. We are auditioning at the moment, and will confirm the cast on August 4th.

What's with the blog?

This is the place where we can document, track and share the creative processes of the coming weeks. Rehearsal images, director's thoughts, questions, challenges...all shall be uploaded to bring the journey to life, and also to ensure we capture the magic of the journey. All members of the cast and crew will be invited to be authors, and to contribute to the growth of this blog.
